  A 29-year-old lady, Chioma Okafor, was on Friday, November 25th, arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command while allegedly carrying out a theft operation with a 19 years old guy, Nweke Joshua at Adesan area of Mowe. A statement released by  Superintendent of Police  Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command, says the suspects were arrested following a distress call received at Mowe divisional headquarters at about 9:30 pm, that armed robbers had invaded a provisional store, owned by one Johnson Nwokoro at Safari Junction Adesan and dispossessing the owner of the day's sales.  ''Upon the distress call, the DPO Mowe division, "SP" Folake Afeniforo, quickly mobilized the division's patrol team and the so safe corps men to the scene where the two suspects were arrested.  On searching them, it was discovered that they came to rob the shop with toy guns which looked perfectly like original pistols.  On interrogation, the 19 years old Nweke J...

  The Oyo State police command has dismissed claims of an assassination attempt on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi during his presidential rally at the Lekan Salami, Adamasingba Stadium last week.   Recall that a man was  caught with a dagger  at the rally which took place on November 23.   However, in a statement released, the spokesperson of the state police command, Adewale Osifeso, said it was true that one Lateef Wasiu was arrested by police officers stationed at the venue for being in possession of a concealed weapon, a double-faced jack-knife placed on the inside of his suit in violation of the 2022 Electoral Act and other guiding regulations but it was not for any assassination.   Reiterating that there was no assassination attempt on the life of Mr Obi contrary to widespread, Osifeso warned the people against fake news that could threaten the peace of the state. ...

  A Nigerian woman, Rita Emuh Onyekachukwu and her husband, have welcomed a set of twins after 13 years of waiting.   "Am as happy as a honeybee, you made it to my child's special day.   The brother of late Bimbo Ogbonna, wife of auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, has said his family members did everything possible to keep Bimbo away from IK but she kept on going back to him.   While responding to comments on his Instagram page, Oyindamola said it all started when an 18-year-old Bimbo met Ikechukwu. He said she had given Ikechukwu all her school fees and eventually dropped out of school. He further stated that after several failed warnings for them to stop seeing each other, Bimbo's family took her to Abuja to live.   The Katsina State Police Command says they arrested no fewer than 1,503 suspected criminals, killed 27 bandits and had 1,116 suspects facing trial within the last eight months in the state. The Command further noted that it rescued 393 victims of kidnap within the same period under review. The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda disclosed this at the commissioning ceremony of the Dandagoro Divisional Police headquarter converted to AIG Zone 14 headquarters by the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba on Friday. “A total number of 1,503 suspected criminals were arrested in connection with 1,024 reported cases, while a total number of 1,116 arrested suspects are undergoing prosecution in various competent Courts of Law in the State. “267 suspected Armed Robbers were arrested and charged to Court, 304 suspected Kidnappers were also arrested and charged to court.
